In weeks three and four, we'll focus on the foundations of User Experience. Get ready to apply this knowledge to your mobile app design.
During the mobile app design process, we will -
Week five is devoted to two things - writing copy for your website and writing a short article about a ux/ui topic you're passionate about. Our in-house ux copywriter Maija will guide you through both processes.
Together you'll -
Learning part-time can be difficult, so let's have a break to avoid burnout.
In the first part of the set of design thinking lectures you will gain an overview of the design process and focus on problem framing and discovery. You will jump right in to working on a real design prompt and start practicing the critical thinking and synthesis skills designers are known for.
In the second phase of the design thinking lectures, you will start prototyping actual solutions to the problem you defined in the first phase. You will learn how designers use prototyping for aligning a team, for visualizing a future scenario, and for giving life to an idea.
In the last week, you will learn how to defend your design work to a client from hell. You'll get best practice tips from the seasoned presenter and public speaker Joe Howard. After that, you'll see right through even the toughest customer.
The Bootcamp ends with a two-day exam - a final-boss assignment showcasing your UX skills and knowledge.
The exam consists of three parts:
1) Research and finding organisation in Miro;
2) Designing and copywriting in Figma;
3) And presenting your work with Loom. We then grade your work and provide feedback.
All who pass receive their UX/UI Design certificates. And then we have a graduation part.
Our UX/UI Bootcamp is a 10-week hands-on learning experience with 16 live-classes, taught by four teachers. You'll join a group of 10 passionate students on Tuesday and Thursday evenings (from 6-9PM, EEST).
Currently the only UX/UI Bootcamp that's taught by four UX professionals - a UX/UI Designer, UX Researcher, Information Architect and a Creative Strategist.
Successful graduates receive a signed digital and print Certificate - both for print and social media. Each certificate comes with a personalised number.
We like to keep things personal so each Bootcamp has only 10 open seats. This way, students connect with each other, our alumni network and the teachers any time via Slack or email.
Our Bootcamp goal is to help you find work. To graduate, students have to complete their personal portfolios, demonstrating that they've learned the skills needed to start their careers.
You'll get best practices, real-life examples, tips, and advice - all designed to help you combine your existing skills with new UX Design skills and choose the right path for you.
When applying for a UX position, applicants often have to complete a practical assignment. That's when our students and alumni can count on our practical support
During the Bootcamp, our teachers are available for 1:1 sessions upon request. Feel free to talk to us about anything!
Edijs is a talented designer and a great lecturer. Learning web design under his guidance was easy, as he was always in the reach to give fair feedback and tips to improve work. He made us not only good designers, but also great mates. His communication and leading skills are truly amazing.
This course gave me a deeper insight and a great hands-on experience in web design. I’ve been successfully implementing the acquired knowledge in my current job - both to manage digital marketing projects and to develop and implement visual materials for the web environment.
Edijs is a great teacher, designer, and mentor. As a self-learner like myself, he has inspired me to push hard, learn and make an effort to achieve bigger goals and become a better designer. Slava’s passion for UX and research opened my eyes to a new level of expertise. Besides being a kind and generous person, Maija taught me how good copywriting could change the whole experience. Joe’s lesson improved my confidence to speak publicly. These people love what they are teaching at UI/UX Bootcamp.
This course gave me a wide insight of UX/UI Design. It also helped me build skills like prototyping, wireframing - from scratch. After the course all students had their work portfolios. Mine helped me get a position in the UX/UI field. This course not only gave me knowledge but also a lot of wonderful friends who are great designers today!
